As time went on and I began to use live stacking and dark frame subtraction techniques to enhance my EAA views I found myself getting more and more interested in traditional astrophotography. While I still occasionally due EAA I am spending more of my time in the pursuit of traditional astrophotography. Up until 2020 I was using Sharpcap to capture images using a Celestron CGE mount and different optical tubes. At this point, I am using The Sky X (TSX) to control my mount and camera and to capture images. My camera is the ASI1600MC, One Shot Color (OSC) camera with 16Mpixels. It is uncooled and I am currently not guiding so my sub-frames are 2min or less. I use dark frame subtraction and just beginning to try my hand at flat frames. I use Nebulosity to align, stack, stretch and color adjust my images, although I know that I will have to eventually master something more involved like PixInsight if I want really impressive images.
