EAA Captures

Here I share examples of EAA images, including single frame and live stacked frames ranging from a few seconds or minutes to many minutes which is typical when using a camera to view deep sky objects in real time.  While the objective is to enjoy enhanced views in real time and not to obtain a high quality image as in astrophotography, one can still capture a pleasing image as a record of the observation and to share with others after the fact.   Images were obtained with many different cameras including multiple CMOS digital cameras and a wide cross-section of typical analog video cameras.  These can give anyone new to EAA an idea of what to expect with a little practice from an EAA viewing session.   Images for most cameras were captured with Sharpcap live stacking software, but some used TSX Live View.
ZWO ASI2600

Images captured with an 11" SCT with Hyperstar @f/1.9 on a Software Bisque MX mount from my back yard in 2024.  All images captured and stretched live using The Sky X "Live Stack".   Binned 1x1 unless noted otherwise. Dark Frame Subtraction & Flat Frame Scaling where noted, otherwise none.
Rosette Nebula NGC2237 10min (120 x 5sec) Gain 300 Bin 1x1
Horse Head Nebula 5min (60 x 5sec) Gain 300 Bin 1x1
2min (24 x 5sec) Gain 300 Bin 1x1
M1 Crab Nebula 3min (36x 5sec) Gain 300 Bin 1x1 Image zoomed in.

ZWO Seestar S50 Smart Telescope

Images captured with the Seestar S50 50mm triplet refractor automated Smart telescope from my light polluted back yard.   All images as they were taken and processed internally (stacked, dark frame substracted) by the Seestar with no additional post processing.  The Seestar automatically uses a Narrow Band filter (Halpha & OIII) for emission nebula or a UV-IR filter for all other objects.  Images were taken with 10s sub-frames when in Alt-Az mode and up to 30s sub-frames when in EQ mode.
ZWO ASI1600MC
Images captured with a 9.25" SCT @ f/10 on an CGE EQ mount at the Golden State Star Party 2017.  All images captured and stacked and stretched live (where noted) with Sharpcap.  Dark frame subtraction live in Sharpcap was used to minimize background noise and the camera was binned 3 x 3 for all images.

ZWO ASI224MC

Images captured with a 9.25" SCT @ f/4.6 using a MC MFR5 on a CGE EQ Mount at the Golden State Star Party 2017  All images are frames stacked, dark frame subtracted and captured with Sharpcap using the histogram to stretch the image live.
Images captured with a 6" SCT on an Alt-Az Mount at the Golden State Star Party 2016, or with a 9.25" SCT on on EQ mount at Golden State Star Party 2017.  All single frame and stacked frame images captured with Sharpcap.
Images captured from my back yard with a Meade ETX80,  80mm f/5 refractor on an Alt-Az mount weighing approximately 12lbs total.   All stacked frame images captured with Sharpcap.

Revolution Imager 2

Images captured with a 6" SCT on an Alt-Az Mount at the Golden State Star Party 2016.  All single frame and stacked frame images captured with Sharpcap.
